Aerospace Research

About

Our research tackles three broadly defined areas that drive advances in aeronautical and aerospace engineering:

  • Aerodynamics and electric propulsion
  • Systems and controls
  • Light weight structures and materials

Our group members are involved with different areas of research and multi-disciplinary background of the group provides a comprehensive approach to the various research topics.

The group has a strong dedication to challenging important societal, scientific, and industrial problems. The majority of our research is led or supported by leading industry partners.

Facilities

Flight simulator with the capability of simulating fully nonlinear transonic real time six DOF applications with novel designs or any existing aircraft configurations.

Electric propulsion laboratory with the capability of simulating and testing of components and complete integrated systems

NDT studio equipped with Ultrasonic, Eddy current, Acoustic Emission and Thermography Testing Equipment with capability of testing complex aerospace components

Study with us

We welcome UK and International applications from suitably qualified graduates interested in joining us for postgraduate research programmes
