About us

The Mobile and Satellite Communications Research Group targets three key areas of research tackling innovations in mobile and satellite communications engineering:

  • Mobile Communication Systems
  • Satellite Communication Systems
  • Dynamic Resource Management

Our members have diverse educational and multi-disciplinary expertise that provide a rich platform for promoting high impact research outcomes.

The group’s interests are aligned with addressing key industry and societal challenges that include sustainability goals, automation, and personalisation. Most of our research is led or supported by international mobile and satellite stakeholders.

Funding successes

Group members have been very successful on European research grants, having either participated in or coordinated European collaborative projects that include Marie Curie Actions Innovative Training NetworksMarie Curie Actions Research and Innovation Staff Exchange EvaluationsHorizon 2020 Joint Undertakings in embedded systems and nanotechnology disciplines; ICT (Information and Communication Technology), and Celtic Eureka, amongst others.
