The Mobile and Satellite Communications Research Group targets three key areas of research tackling innovations in mobile and satellite communications engineering:
Our members have diverse educational and multi-disciplinary expertise that provide a rich platform for promoting high impact research outcomes.
The group’s interests are aligned with addressing key industry and societal challenges that include sustainability goals, automation, and personalisation. Most of our research is led or supported by international mobile and satellite stakeholders.
Group members have been very successful on European research grants, having either participated in or coordinated European collaborative projects that include Marie Curie Actions Innovative Training Networks; Marie Curie Actions Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Evaluations, Horizon 2020 Joint Undertakings in embedded systems and nanotechnology disciplines; ICT (Information and Communication Technology), and Celtic Eureka, amongst others.
Other successful sources of funding include Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng), British Council, ARABSAT and Innovate UK
We welcome UK and international applications from suitably qualified graduates interested in joining us for postgraduate research. Find out more on the Graduate School website or contact Professor Ifiok Otung.
We also offer a taught Masters in Mobile and Satellite Communications.
If you are interested in any of our research, please contact Professor Jonathan Rodriguez.
