Working with industry partners Big River Steel UK Ltd, Wall Colmonoy Ltd, Coleherne Ltd and Advanced Electric Machines Ltd, Dr Xiao Guo, researcher in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering, has been awarded £294k by the ERDF funded SMART Expertise programme to lead the CorMat+ project.

The CorMat+ project will deliver two innovative new materials for use in electrification applications including electric motors, generators and transformers, reducing the impact on the environment by improving energy efficiency.  

The award was supported by the Funding Development Team in Research and Innovation Services.
